The Douglas Hyde Foundation supports the creation of an Irish language usage project that will encourage and empower young people across the globe to use their Irish more. One of the biggest identified challenges to be overcome to ensure the survival of the language is the lack of use by those can speak Irish. The Irish language usage project will address this problem by working with young people to encourage and empower them to use Irish in their daily lives. This is key to ensuring that the Irish language is eventually removed from the UN list of endangered languages.
